My grandma had me sitting on the counter "helping" when I was just a tiny little thing. I have had a love affair with food my whole life. My mom wasn't much of a cook but grandma made up for it in spades. I was raised in Indiana and then moved to Texas at 19. I adore Tex-Mex. I don't usually fix "fussy" types of food. My grandma made something she called Popeye ... I think that was because I was huge Popeye fan when I was a toddler. It was just rolled dumplings but they were so yummy the way she made them. LOL she had a secret she never told my mom ... she added butter to them like you would with pie dough so they were more delicate than the ones mom made :D I think it a triumph every time an "experiment" actually turns out well :D My first try at Lasagna :p .. oh and my first several tries at Chili Rellenos ... still working on the batter for them.
