So, here I am, a new subscriber to Allrecipes (although been a member for three years) and writing my first blog! I love to cook, but love to make art quilts (thus my image picture). I try to balance my free time with planning great meals for my family, and time to play with my stash of fabrics.

I'm not much of a baker, so if I get a pie crust from scratch to actually taste better than a refrigerated one, I feel pretty good!
My cooking tragedies
Chocolate chip cookies, where my long hair got caught in the stand mixer. I finally had to unplug it, with all of my hair tied around the beaters. Those cookies never got baked.
