Had this dish with roasted Chicken at a fancy restaurant and had to make it for myself. I started the dish before I realized I was missing some crucial ingredients. No Apple cider vinegar, no cloves! In order to compensate for the blandness of my creation I threw in a 1/4 C of sweet pickle juice which is heavy on cloves! I also felt the need to add more sugar, I used brown and it turned out lovely! I can't wait to try it again with all of the correct ingredients. Of course if it doesn't work out I can always use the pickle juice.
I served this dish with Wiener Schnitzel which is also in the picture above. Great combination!
