Crunchy Onion Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2009
I think this recipe is a good base to start off with for people who are completely new to the meatloaf world (like me). This is also very convenient because I usually do have all of these things on hand. That being said, the biggest change I made was that used ground turkey instead of beef, and I also changed it to 4 servings (to get 1lb for the meat). I also added a few things. If you want to know everything that I changed, check out my blog on All Recipes, I list everything I did. Just 3 stars, because even with the things I added, it was VERY bland.

Korean Marinade

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This marinade was great. I used it on a 1lb pork tenderloin. I was only going to use it for a 24hr marinade, but plans changed, so it was 48hrs. I had to use minced onion as I was out of scallions. I also added a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce to it as well. Was absolutely fabulous. The next time I use this I will be using chicken and following it to a "T". This is just a great marinade.

Pot Stickers Traditional

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I did not like how this turned out at all. I followed the recipe, but over all the flavor just wasn't there for me. I've had much better frozen ones (and for the amount of time and the cost it took to make these, I would rather spend my money on the frozen). I think it was the wonton wrappers that did it for me. I found the texture to be very different to what I'm use to. After trying this recipe, I was turned off to pot stickers for a few months.

Corn Chowder with Sausage

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I was not fond of this recipe. I don't think it has anything to do with the recipe itself, in my house we found that the flavor was very bland and it took longer than expected. Plus, we also gathered, that while we love corn, we don't like it mixed in with our food. It needs to be on it's own supporting side dish roll.

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
Love this recipe. It was the first time I've ever tried a casserole like this, and for the first time ever, my husband was excited to eat it over the next few days. I've made it 1 time exactly per the recipe, 3 times with tweaks, and the last one I made, the changes were perfect. This is a great base for getting things rolling and tweaking things around to suit your families tastes.

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
My house wasn't personally impressed with these cookies. I've tried them a few times, and each time they were not liked. I can't honestly say what it was (it's been awhile since I made them), but something was just off.

French Onion Soup V

I have used this recipe as a base for a few years now. To me, this is a good introduction to the French Onion Soup. It's not daunting at all.

Honey Baked Chicken II

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
I made this using slightly less butter, but the other ingredients to a tee. I also used a whole chicken that I cut into pieces. I had full intentions of cooking it the same day I had prepared the ingredients, but alas, that did not happen. So I put the chicken in the pan, poured the stuff over everything, covered it and let it marinade for almost 24 hours. It was a nice change from the normal chicken, and the leftovers made GREAT tacos and quesidilas [spelling]. The only thing I disliked is the butter aspect. I still feel it was too much even though I reduced it, so I'll have to try it again and see how it works.

Peach Cobbler V

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2008
I've made this recipe two times. The first time was the recipe to the tee, with adding just a few "secret" ingredients (a capful of vanilla extract, a few grates of fresh nutmeg in both the "dough" and fruit, and just a hint of cinnamon). The second time I cut it in half, and used apple pie filling, along with a lot of cinnamon to give it a bit of an "apple pie" appeal. Both were a huge hit. Even with people who don't like cobbler or anything like it, liked it. I still find the dough a little to runny for my tastes, which is why I gave it 4 stars, but my husband told me not to change anything about that part of it. It reminds him of his Tu-Ma's. Great Recipe, easy to fix, seeing as this was my first time making anything like it, it wasn't daunting. EDIT: 1-9-09 I have since scaled this down to single servings using the calculator here. I used the individual throw-away metal cups you can get down the baking isle, and followed the recipe as close as possible, taking into account with the melted butter that it wouldn't take as long. They still needed to cook for nearly an hour (I made 3 individual ones) and they were awesome.
