I've been around, just not in the mood for blogging, but today I decided to blog because I had a recipe extravaganza yesterday. I was hosting a little shindig for a few people and did appetizers and soup. I reviewed everything, but I just wanted to make a few comments for all to see. While I've MORE

About this Cook
Married. Cancer Survivor. Photographer [ www.moonflyart.com ]. Life is good.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite quick thing is tacos. While I personally don't care for Italian food at all, it seems to be the best thing I can cook. I also enjoy doing stir-frys. Mmmm...stir-fry.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Monday dinners. We truly value our lazy Sunday's in this house and enjoy doing nothing but snacking that day. So we turn Monday into our big meal day.
My cooking triumphs
I have one in mind, though I have not tried it in awhile. Try back to see if I reveal the mystery! (Nope still haven't) (Still haven't. Though I can honestly say I don't remember what this is suppose to be anymore.)
My cooking tragedies
Oh....I tried to make a homemade spaghetti sauce. We won't go down this road...

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits
Just made these an hour ago, and the hubby loves them. I like them a lot, but not my favorite. Nice and fluffy but, I'm still on the search for a better biscuit for me. Will continue to make these until I find it.

Kentucky Biscuits
My house is conflicted with this recipe. I personally didn't care for them as a breakfast type biscuit, I thought they worked better as a base for Kahlua Pork. My husband thought they were really good though. We both agreed that they could have been fluffier, but they were really moist. I'll keep in the box for savory instead of breakfast biscuits.

Fajita Marinade I
This was a great marinade to start with. I did have to change the cayenne pepper to chili powder, I didn't have any on hand. It was still great, but my husband and I both agreed that there was too much lime juice to our liking. I'll use an 1/8th of a cup next time but also use the chili powder. Oh, I also didn't want chunks of garlic so I used 2 teaspoons of garlic powder. All in all though, a great marinade and I'm sure that with the lime juice change it'll be even better next time.
