I homeschool my daughter who is turning 13 in a few weeks. My husband is currently attending college and a disabled Airforce Vet. I live in Cleveland, OH. but originally from Virginia Beach, VA. I love collecting cookbooks, especially the older ones. Most of my cookbooks range from the 1920's to 1970's.
My favorite things to cook
My chili, stuffed cabbage, chow mein
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't know about cooking traditions... my great-grandmother raised me so I cook from scratch on 99% of things, and I cook alot of "peasant" foods. I am always trying new recipes except anything that has the word "surprise" in the title..my husband won't touch it if it does
My cooking triumphs
I came up with my own BBQ sauce which I can change from spicy to tangy and sweet with just a few tweaks of the ingredients. I learned how to can last year and am quite proud of my jelly and green tomato salsa!
My cooking tragedies
I cannot boil rice ( I have a rice cooker) I ALWAYS overcook the brownies =( and don't ask about the peanut brittle that came out more like peanut brick ball.
