Every year as I'm cooking Thanksgiving dinner with my mom, I can't help but remember past Thanksgiving holidays. Some are more memorable than others. The Thanksgivings that I a remember as a child were all at my Nanny's house and they kind of run together, though each are special.  My first… MORE

About this Cook
I'm a single mom with 2 active boys. I love to use my slowcookers (I have 5 of them, 6 if you count the mini crock) and my bread machine gets used quite often as well.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook anything that my boys will eat. Most of the meals that I cook at home are fairly easy with common ingredients. We have such a busy schedule that most of our meals need to be fairly quick and easy. Although, on occasion, I do enjoy cooking something a little more complicated when time permits.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my entire family gets together to make tons of cookies. All of my aunts, cousin's, their kids, my papaw and close friends. I haven't been able to participate for several years since I live halfway across the country, but I look forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories of "cookie day" every year.
My cooking triumphs
I consider any meal that my pickiest eater will eat to be a triumph. Lately, that's been more and more. Ever since finding this site I've been able to expand my menu with foods that he enjoys. Yay! Thank you AR!
My cooking tragedies
I'm sure we've all done this...I was cooking a special meal for a special person in my life and accidentally turned up the wrong burner and burned the main meal to the point that it's inedible. I HATE it when that happens. LOL

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce
This was really good, but I will definitely cut the sugar in half next time. It was a little sweet for our taste.

Kielbasa Made Easy
I definitely left mine in the slow cooker too long, but they weren't done after an hour. I'll try it again and keep a better eye on it.

Tangy Cauliflower
Made it exactly as written. It was okay. Probably will not make it again. I think it would be better if the instructions didn't call for nuking the cauliflower
