About this Cook
I am 25 years old and from the great state of TX. I am married to my very best friend, who thinks my cooking is better than his moms. We dont get to sit down as often for full meals as we like since DH is in Med school, and most his life is spent in a library studying. All his meals have to be quick and easy or leftovers. But I still like to try new things to cook whenever possible. I have a boxer named Glitter, and hopefully within the year we will get to have another addition.... I LOVE cooking, and I find it theraputic in a way. I get so much satisfaction when I cook something amazing. I have probably gained 20 pounds since discovering this site a couple years ago....lol.
My favorite things to cook
I love soup. I could eat it all day. But I love to make pretty much everything from coleslaw to stake to cake....It all depends on my mood. I dont really have a favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We dont really have a family tradition except at thanksgiving. My moms stuffing is kind of a tradition since we have have had it every year since I can remember.
My cooking triumphs
Making my first homeade rolls that actually turned out how they were ment to. They were so good!
My cooking tragedies
nothing too tragic yet.

Easy Never Forgotten Guacamole
I thought this recipe was okay. Its a 4 star for me, because I thought it needed something extra like tomatoes or more spices. I couldnt put my finger on it but something was missing. I loved the creaminess though. This is not for people looking for authentic guacamole. One of the top reviews stated this is the only way its made in texas. I am from San Antonio born and raised and never have come across guacamole with cream cheese. So I am not sure what the previous reviwer was talking about. But it was different and still tasted really good. Great for football!

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting
I thought this frosting was okay. I like my frosting thick and frosting like, and this was like cream cheese flavored whipped cream. Mine didnt turn out runny at all. I think the key to it not being runny is beating the whipped cream not just until soft peaks form, but until it is thick thick. Then most importantly use POWDERED sugar (i used 1 cup). I think the submitter must have ment powdered not reg white sugar. But that made all the difference in the world. Mine was light, and airy like cool whip but thicker than cool whip. It would be fantastic on a strawberry cake. I made it for a banana cake and thought it was just ok.

Cookies 'n Cream Cake
This was really easy and delicious. The secret to not having a crumbling problem with this cake is to add a packet of dream whip to the batter. When it bakes it keeps it moist but makes it a little more dense. It was perfect. I aslo added 2 cups oreo crumbs. I have baked this as a layer cake and as a sheet cake and both work well. The sheet cake takes alot less work because you can just frost and go, so i usually just do that.
