To make a long story short, I made this glorious sponge cake and topped it with Carol's "Lemon Filling" (as per another reviewer's suggestion), and threw some strawberries into the mix.
The cakes looked like they'd be tough to get out of the pans, but with some careful slicing around the edges and underneath, they popped right out.
