Mom's Mexican Cornbread

My family loved this! I had no leftovers. I cooked half of the onion, one of the jalapeƱos, cumin, garlic power and chili powder with the ground beef. I also added 1/4 cup sugar to the cornmeal mixture. When I took it out of the oven I sprinkled about a cup of cheddar cheese on top.
