I made the bottom layer a red velvet cake and the other 2 were yellow cake mixes - one dyed blue to be festive. I did not use a mold for this - just carved out the sections and placed them where I wanted them. The icing was a simple sugar icing that hardened. Was a big hit at the BBQ!
