I used the original recipe for the bottom tier of this cake, then I halved the recipe and made the top tier in two 6'' round pans. I also did not use the given frosting recipe, I could not get the milk to thicken, so I just made a butter cream recipe, I know it is not what is typically supposed to go with this cake, but it still turned out great, and complemented the cake well.
