The post doc in our lab got his paper published in a big publication, so we decided he needed a special cake. His paper was about the Apple Maggot Fly, and he's obsessed with beer, so this was the only logical way we could celebrate this! Marzipan made the stems and leaves possible, almonds were the apple seeds and the mini-bundts were held together with raspberry jam. DELICIOUS! The cake was so amazing, we're lucky we made 3 apples after munching on the delicious scraps!
