Brown roast in skillet lightly coated with bacon grease, chopped garlic, black pepper and sea salt to taste. Remove and refrigerate overnight.
Instead of packaged onion soup I opted for Wyler;s Beef boulion cubes(2) thoroughly dissolved in hot water. I also used aluminum foil balls to support the roast in the slow cooker. I add my potatoe's, baby carrots and celery stalks about halfway through the cooking process. After viewing the AllRecipes.Com video on slow cooking, I chose to set my cooker on high for my recipes and adjust the time accordingly. This has worked very well for me.
