I made a chocolate cake on the back of the Hershey's cocoa container, and substituted applesauce for the oil. Then made a 8" square and a 7" oval cake. I halved both and filled them with the Italian buttercream. This buttercream reminds me more of whipped icing than buttercream. Very good. Held up well to the decorations. Very smooth.
