About this Cook
40, female, married with no kids. Have worked in the restaurant industry over 25 years. Addicted to recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Anything, but if I have to pick a favorite thing to cook it would be soup. I make kick arse soup.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Comfort food. My favorites are soups, chicken dishes, Mexican, cookies, and anything that can be served with a side of my Mom's mashed potatoes. Also, anything spicy.
My cooking triumphs
Having my husband tell me I made something as good as or better than his Mom.
My cooking tragedies
I tried a recipe for stuffed cabbage rolls from Martha Stewart once. She should have gone to jail for publishing that recipe anywhere.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili
After cooking this for 3 days - it's 5 star. The first day - it was ok, kind of thin - 2nd day - tastier and a little thicker - by the third day it is amazing! Thick, hearty and VERY tasty - although I think it could have been a bit spicier. I made it for a Halloween party (I started cooking it 2 days before) and did a little chili buffet - set out some bowls and a platter of sour cream, fresh chives, cheese, and a plate of hotdogs - people could have what they preferred - but no matter what they chose they really enjoyed this chili - and so did I. I left out one can of beans and added a little extra meat and i used real bacon - other than that I followed the recipe exactly. I will definitely be making this again. Thank you. :)

Piggy Wiggys
Quick, easy - and one of the hits of my Halloween party. I should have made a double batch. I served them with honey mustard for dipping - and I used lil cheddar smokies. These were tasty and fun. Thanks for the recipe!

Artichoke and Roasted Red Pepper Dip
This was just ok for me. Kind of bland - so I added garlic and pepper. It was pretty greasy - even after patting down the peppers and hearts with paper towels. I made it for a Halloween party and it was one of the few things leftover. I doubt it will go into my regular rotation - but maybe with some tweaking it could be better.
