Just me!
About this Cook
I'm in my 30's, happily married, work part-time in medical field and spend most of my time in my art studio, working on a project and listening to music.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is a challenge that I enjoy, and I love to grill and smoke. Cooking is a mood thing with me. At times a fussy appetizer or complicated recipe suits me. Other times I want something simple like scrambled eggs. My big peeve is H@mburg#r H#lp#r----I really object to fixing that stuff, let alone eating it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One side is home cooken' country, the other is more upscale. I had the best of both!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for 20 by myself and it was great!
My cooking tragedies
I am rice cooking impaired! Can't cook rice to save my life...Rice Cookers are brillant. Have also made some pretty awful ham and beans, not really sure how I messed it up, but it was baaaaaddddd!

Hot Scotch Cocoa
This is so good when it's cold outside, sometimes I add a shot of Brandy for extra punch!

Scott Ure's Clams And Garlic
This is outstanding! The first "real live" clam recipe I ever prepared. When I made this I made 2 batches, 1 w/ live clams and 1 w/ canned because I just wasn't sure about the real clams. I had made both red and white clam sauce w/ canned before that was very good. This recipe ruined me on canned clams. The fresh was so tasty that the canned wasn't eaten. Yummy! we make this every time fresh clams are available. Thank you Scott!

Kitty Litter Cake
This is one of my fav Halloween recipes. "Cat Box Cake" has been made for many parties and is always a hit. It looks so real that some people couldn't eat it, others (like me) picked out the Tootsie Rolls and snacked on them. My husband and I have had way too much fun shapeing those Tootsie Rolls & draping them over the side of the litter box, is a very disgusting touch! Have fun and enjoy!!!
