Chicken Pot Pie GF DF

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2012
This is a great basic recipe but too many changes are required to merit a higher rating. Dryness can be fixed with less thickener - just add flour little at a time until desired thickness. No need to make more sauce. Add garlic powder and thyme for more flavor. Mix sauce with chicken before pouring in shell. Slower, lower baking worked well, too: 375 for 45 mins. Brush lower shell with egg white and bake for 5 mins. before adding chicken mixture to prevent mushiness. Also, I made mine dairy free with Earth Balance and rice milk. Worked perfectly.

Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Seriously TOO MUCH salt! Great mix of flavors but definitely cut salt down to 1 TEASPOON. If you don't like spice, cut the cayenne down, too. I use the Foreman and I have dinner in 20 minutes. Kids love it, too! Delicious (once you cut down the salt)!

Great, easy, delicious! I used fresh thyme from my garden and cooked with a bay leaf. Very satisfying!

GF German Pancakes II

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2011
Turned this gluten and dairy free by substituting GF all-purpose flour (add 1 tsp. zanthum gum) and almond milk. Added spices as recommended in other reviews. Yummy! Next time will add baking soda and use all 6 eggs (only used 4) to get more fluffiness as was dense because of GF substitutions. Family loved!!

Cousin Cosmo's Greek Chicken

Wonderful recipe! I even had to tweak for gluten free and lactose free and it was still delicious. Skipped the feta filling and simply sprinkled chicken with greek seasoning and a squeeze of lemon before folding. Doubled tomato and spinach just because. Great!

DELICIOUS! RED WINE VINEGAR SHOULD BE PART OF THE RECIPE BECAUSE IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. LOVED THIS!

So easy and my family loves them. Only modification my family requires is that, in an effort to use more natural ingredients, I actually use an organic french onion dip mix; fantastic!! This is the one dinner my husband requests regularly.

Lemon Cake with Lemon Filling and Lemon Butter Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
Unbelievably wonderful! Lots of steps but that is just what it takes to make cakes this good!Amount of filling and frosting was perfect even for my family who likes lots.I took 2 hints from other reviewers: use 3/4 milk and 1/4 lemon juice in cake - absolutely perfect! Also, when frosting, do a "crumb layer"; i had never heard of that technique and will never frost a cake without doing it again. Very special cake! Thank you for sharing!

Excellent and easy. My friend said it made her nostalgic because it was the same as her grandma's. Kids ate it, too. Oh, my 11 year old made most of the recipe on his own!

Made this tonight for friends. Everyone loved it and wanted the recipe. No reason to change a thing. Really refreshing. It is kind of like the hard lemonades out there but less sweet. Great for entertaining or something to sip at the pool.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2010
This is the best, easiest cobbler recipe ever! I adjusted the servings to 6 (instructions and quantities within recipe do not change so adjust accordingly) and used a 9" square pan. Used coarse sugar on top. I love that the batter layers on the bottom and bakes up enveloping the fruit. Fabulous - company worthy!

5 stars not because it is gourmet but because it is so easy, good, and the kids love it. This was my fall back when I didn't have ingredients for a more complicated sloppy joe (there's an oxymoron for you!). Why use any other recipe?!

Wonderful! The traditional sliced, layer salad never quite hits the spot because I like more dressing. This hits the spot exactly. I did seed the tomatoes as suggested and would probably suggest it.
