Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2009
Seriously TOO MUCH salt! I cut in half and it was still salty even for my salt-hungry children. Great mix of flavors but definitely cut salt down to 1 TEASPOON. If you don't like spice, cut the cayenne way down, too. Let it marinade for 30 minutes then grill or broil. Delicious (once you cut down the salt)!

Chicken Soup III

Very good, very simple. I never add boullion to my broth but tried it this time. Good but 1/2 as much would have been better. Also, no need to cook 4 hours: the broth is ready easily in 2. Thanks for keeping it real!

Cranberry Sauce

For perfect "jelly": use 1/4 c. Grand Marnier, 3/4 c. OJ, 1 c. white sugar, a pinch of cinnamon, pinch of ginger. Cook for 25-30 mins. mashing berries while they cook. Press through sieve or wire strainer. Firms up nicely and is delicious! Thanks for the start! This is a keeper!

Spiced Slow Cooker Applesauce

This is easy and so delicious. My son wanted "homestyle" apple sauce and I didn't want all the extra ingredients of purchased. He loves it! Delicious on ice cream. Yum Yum!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

I just made a double batch of these on faith. Well, glad I did because the kids are gobbling them up. I'm always looking for healthier versions of traditional foods that my kids will eat. Well, this totally scores! I used frozen blueberries and it worked great. Thanks for sharing!

Fluffy Whole Wheat Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2008
My kids wanted biscuits and I refuse to make the traditional "unhealthy" variety. These are the perfect solution. They love them and I'm happy to see them gobble them up. I followed another reviewers suggestion to use shortening (non-hydrogenated vegetable!) instead of butter to lighten them up. Works great! Will double the batch next time!

Good basic recipe. Add more flavor with OJ. Also, we made slushies with ice in the blender. Yum!!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Beer flavor very strong. Next time I'll try 1/2 broth as recommended. Add more spice if you like more flavor. With those changes I'll give it 5 stars. Definitely add toppings! Could also eat over rice.

Pork and Green Chile Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
This was a great family recipe. Both of my kids gobbled it up rolled in tortillas burrito style. I made my changes: sauteed onion with the pork, added seasoning salt, added can corn and pigeon peas and lots more spice and cheese to our taste. Yum!!

This recipe was very good. Easy to make, too. I had extra stuffing so I cooked in a buttered casserole. Great leftovers.
