About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I am always looking for ways to make healthy versions of many of the processed, "white" foods that my children would love to eat. Doesn't have to be 100% whole wheat but does have to be close. Doesn't have to be organic but does have to have no corn syrup, hydrogenated fat, etc. Tricky but very often successful!
My cooking triumphs
Salads, soups, dressings.
My cooking tragedies
Grilled meat. Not so good!

Berdean's Cube Steak
Very good. My kids loved it. A little less sugar and a little more spice make good changes. I used Italian Seasoning and Red Pepper. Quick, too.

Italian Sausage Soup
This is delicious! Made exactly as called for except using veg broth for more herb flavor. Everyone loved it! I'll make this for company!

Olive Pecan Spread
Definitely add fresh cracked pepper. Use a food processor for cream cheese and mayo; stir in nuts and olives by hand. Not really special but a good quick spread.
