I am a wife and mother of three. My children are 1)Ross 30yrs;2)Kate 26yrs;3)Liz 25 yrs. We are a close family with extended and immediate members. We celebrate with food. We have family recipes that have been handed down for generations. The family can trace it's roots back to the American Revolution. I am a educator and serve as School Director for my local school. My husband is Retired from UPS with 33 1/2 years of service. My girls are in BSN programs and my son is a veteran of the Marines.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to make are comfort foods like cheesy scalloped potatoes and baked ham; meat loaf and green beans; homemade biscuits; eggs benedict; pancakes, bacon and sausage; cookies of all types.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our favorite family cooking traditions are Christmas fruit salad - made of grapefruit, oranges, grapes, canned pears, pineapple, peaches, and maraschino cherries. Make the night before serve chilled with Christmas dinner. For picnics we make a huge turkey roaster full of scalloped potatoes with cheese; goes good with fried chicken, ham, burgers, hot dogs, and almost anything you want to pair with it.
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies are biscuits made from scratch. They are like hockey pucks. I just don't have the handto knead the dough right.
