About this Cook
I am a mother to two beautiful girls, Paxton (8) and Addison (4). I have been married 9 years to my loving husband, Tristan. My husband was an active Marine, until 2001. I was a working mother until we had our youngest in 2003. i stayed home until 2006. I am now working full-time so my husband can finish school. I never really had to work within a budget before, and now i do. i also have to think of meals that are easy and not so time consuming. I actually have been doing most of my cooking on the weekends, and add a side here and there through out the week. my girls love to help me, and i encourage them to do so.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake cakes, and cookies. I also love to make interesting things to wow my friends and family. I love crock-pot recipes and soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
baking cookies at christmas time, and gettting thanksgiving together. I love the way everyone, know what to do, and it is so nice for the everyone to chat over good food.
My cooking triumphs
I was given the task of making a dish for Christmas dinner, and didn't have the recipe and I worked through it and I did it. whew! Sharing my love for food with my girls.
My cooking tragedies
chocolate graham cracker crusted pork chops. (doesn't work like plain graham cracker crumbs)LOL

Braised Collard Greens
These are the best. We have family and friends that gorw collards and very year I'm asked to make these. I can't wait, in a few more weeks, I can make these bad boys. I like others used red wine vinegar, I love pepper vinegar and I'm sure that would work too. just cause that is what I had, and I used fresh salted pork, not store bought.

Garlic Cucumber Dip
Grating the cucumber was easier to get the water out. I just grated it with the skin, cause I think it is pretty, and the let it dry on a paper towl for a while.Much better and like another reveiwer- salt the cucumber ever so slightly, while you let them dry out a bit.
