Slow Cooker Stuffing

It was great having the stuffing out of the way and cooking all on its own. I used about half of the broth called for and it would have been 'soup' with more; cooked for 4 hours on low. I used homemade bread cubes (l/2 wheat and l/2 white). Excellent flavor.

Almond Custard Filling

This is great cake filling, just be sure to chill it or your layers will slide apart. Great when used with with decorator icing that also has almond flavoring.

Fried Rice with Cilantro

Super Moist Pumpkin Bread

Made exactly as written, I never would have guessed it is Pumpkin Bread by the flavor. Tastes more like molasses from all the dark brown sugar. It is good though, and very dense and moist.

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Good flavor made with gingersnap/ground pecan crust. Crust made with cinnamon graham crackers is also good, and I made whipped cream with a little sugar and pumpkin pie spice added.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

I cut the chicken in bite sized pieces and added spinach at the end for a one dish meal. My husband couldn't stop raving about it. His only suggestion was to use angel hair pasta or rice because the sauce doesn't stick. Maybe will thicken the sauce just a little next time.

Rotisserie Chicken

This was excellent, but I made several changes: 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 butter, added garlic powder, onion powder, lemon pepper instead of black, used the salt and paprika, stuffed chicken with onion and lemon wedges, and filled the drip pan with white wine and lemon juice. Easy recipe and amazing flavor.

Spicy Bean Salsa

Made this with Rotel tomatoes and fresh jalapenos. Lots of fresh lime juice (4), fresh cilantro, cumin, and only a splash of Italian dressing. Everybody loved it.

Spicy Turkey Burgers

I saw the look on my husband's face when he saw ground turkey but he didn't say anything. I thought maybe he wouldn't even try them, but he did and he raved, and raved over them and wants them again tomorrow night. I used one large jalapeno with seeds instead of chile peppers, everything else the same. Used the George Foreman grill and served with mango/coconut pepper sauce found in the condiment section of Publix. Amazing burgers!

Asiago Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

This is an excellent recipe, however I chose to cut way back on the cream and used mostly 1/2 & 1/2 and milk. I added much more Asiago which added to the 'creaminess' as well as added flavor, and sprinkled in cayenne pepper. I had uncooked chicken breasts, so cubed them and browned with the onions and garlic in a little bacon fat. My picky eaters thought it was great!

Strawberry Cake from Scratch

I made this twice because I thought I did something wrong, it is dense and heavy even though I sifted the cake flour before measuring and folded in beaten egg whites at the end. I tried both 9" pans and three 8" pans. They both turned out extremely dense and on the dry side. When frosted with whipped cream cream cheese frosting with puree added, it is very good flavor, but the texture is not pleasant to eat.
