Angel Food Candy

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2006
Very quick and easy to make. Tastes just like the old fashioned Angel Food Candy my husband grew up eating at Christmas time, he said. I used real chocolate (3 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips) and 1/4 cup of vegetable shortening to make my own chocolate coating (heated it in microwave). Then set the candy in the refrigerator to set up faster.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2006
Very Good! Very easy and delicious. I served it over Wild Rice. Beautiful presentation! I only had one pound of Tilapia and so I cut the recipe in half and it still made 4 very nice sized servings. Like others have said, even those that aren't fond of fish will probably like this recipe. I have been sharing it. Will make this often because of the easy, flavor and presentation. Simply elegant!

Rice Cereal Energy Bars

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2005
Good Recipe! Worth the time and effort to make - way better than anything you could buy ready made like this. I made these especially for my teenage basketball player daughter. I thought they would be something she could grab and take to eat before or after a game. I did add an additional cup of peanut butter as mentioned by others for easier blending of ingredients. I cut and wrapped them individually for freezing. I don't think I'd make any changes on the fruits use when I make them again. The combination of the flavors of the seeds and dried fruits worked together perfectly.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2004
My family enjoyed this, they said it was better than average. I soaked a 1/2 cup of raisins in 1/4 cup of Grand Marnier to soften them up. I used the 4 eggs the recipe called for, 2 cups of half and half and I used six day-old finger rolls. The consistency was just right. Served it warm with vanilla bean ice cream.

Sloppy Joes II

I have made this recipe for years and it is my family's absolute favorite Sloppy Joe recipe. My husband likes to make it with ground buffalo and that is very tasty too!. This is the only recipe I use! Very Good!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2004
Okay! This recipe was super easy and quick. I just finished making these. Took me a little over 20 minutes to do a pound of extra large fancy berries. I used semi-sweet chocolate chunks. I used wooden skewers and I stacked 3 syrofoam bowls together and flipped them upside down and punched holes in them with a pen to rest the chocolate coated skewed berries until they were dry. Will experiment with other kinds of chocolates in the future. Next time I will drizzle white chocolate to jazz them up further. I've already eaten 3 of the smaller ones. What a simple elegant dessert! I will be making these again. Can't wait for my family to get home and try them. And they're good for you - lots of vitamin C in the strawberries and the healthy kind of chocolate - dark chocolate. This recipe is a winner!!!

Bread Machine Challah I

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2004
Fast and easy to mix up. Nice texture and flavor. Wanted to make bread pudding with this - but looks like it will all be eaten as slices. Glad the recipe indicated to use the light setting on the bread machine - got a nice golden brown. (Usually I have to use Medium to get that color!)Good will make again!

Best Bread Machine Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2004
Finally a great white bread recipe that works in my bread machine! I've made this twice in the past week and it has turned out perfect! Easy to make, wonderful aroma as it bakes and almost as good as my Grandma's homemade bread used to taste (with a faction of the work time!). I used yeast that I knew was fresh and bread flour as indicated in the recipe - the quality of these two ingredients and proofing the yeast are what I believe make this recipe a success. If it doesn't turn out for you, make sure you have "good, fresh" yeast!. Will pass this along to family members and this will now be my "Regular" bread machine white bread recipe!!!!*****

Ciabatta Bread

Easy Recipe. Liked the technique of using bread machine to do the mixing and kneading. No messy clean up! Flavor was good. Would like to try it in a smoked turkey sandwich. Good with soup, too. Will make this again!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2003
Very good and easy recipe! I made this recipe about a month ago. I used a mixture of bread crumbs and cornflake crumbs (my family has always liked meatloaf made with cornflake crumbs!) instead of the cracker crumbs. I added a little Worchestershire sauce to the meat mixture. I too, put half the brown sugar/ketchup mixture on the bottom and half on the top. My husband really liked this and told me to save the recipe. Guess what's for supper tonight?

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2003
These are the very best banana muffins I have ever made! Very tender and moist. I have made these twice in the last three days. My family loved them. I made them just this morning again and added some chopped pecans to the batter and also to the topping. They came out of the oven looking just like a picture in a gourmet magazine. Will make again whenever I have dark bananas to use up! Great Recipe!!!

Florentine Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2003
This is the best tasting artichoke-spinach recipe I have found. Even much better than any I have had at any restaurant. Very easy to make. Tried it out on my family this past weekend and they all loved it - told me to be sure to keep the recipe and make it again. Will be making it for sure over the holidays this winter. Great Recipe!!!

Cheesy Lasagna Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2003
A good, hearty Italian flavored soup recipe. For more broth and to tone down the tomato alittle, I added 2 cans of beef broth. Also, I added a couple of tablespoons of cottage cheese to each bowl of soup & mixed that in before topping with the croutons and cheese.

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2003
This was a very easy and good recipe. It was great tasting. I did increase the salt to 2 tsp. I made mini gourmet pizzas using it as a crust. I brushed the pita with olive oil and topped it with some canned Italian style tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, feta cheese and chopped green onion and broiled it for several minutes. What a great tasting pita pizza! I will definately make this again!
