I have one son aged 6, one dog (black lab), one cat (black & white). I enjoy the outdoors, camping especially. I prefer comfort foods. Meat and potatoes just like my mom made. On occasion I like to try different recipes. I get tired of the same old thing week in/week out. Christmas baking is the first thing that comes to mind. That's when all the women got in the kitchen at the same time and had fun. I like to follow a recipe to the T so when one turns out exactly as it should and tastes great I feel I've accomplished something great. One Christmas I made my now-traditional Buck-Eyed balls. These are peanut butter balls mixed with icing sugar and coconut and rice krispies rolled in chocolate. My first time making them (age 10) was a disaster. I used uncooked rice instead of rice krispies....my sister-in-law ate one and said ummmmm crunchy. She was being polite. They were terrible.
