I made this for a superbowl party. I am pregnant and craving fruit and thought there probably wouldn't be any at a superbowl party so I made this more for myself than the guests. I also made spinach dip in hawaiian bread. This was such a huge success that I barely ate any. Matter of fact, it was the first thing eaten completely even though we had 7 dips, 3 main dishes, and lots of desert. I was the only one without leftovers and I doubled the recipe!
Here are my tips for making this dish. I cut up all the fruit and placed them in a colander to drain while cutting. The apples I placed in a ziploc bag with a squeeze of lemon juice and less than a tsp. of sugar to keep them from browning. I used orange marmalade and only 1 tbsp. of white sugar and 1 tbsp of brown. It was sweet enough and you could really taste the fruit. The fruit I used was fresh pineapple, granny smith and red delicious apples, strawberries, kiwi, and nectarines. Well worth the energy and time spent cutting fruit.
