Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2009
This was AMAZING! It was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. My husband and kids loved it too! Soaking it overnight keeps it from having "eggy, runny" spots as some other reviewers had trouble with. The bread needs time to soak up all of the liquid. We sauted some chopped almonds in butter, cinnamon, and sugar then sprinkled them over the finished product. Mmmmm, so good! Thanks for sharing the recipe.

These are amazing! They are easy to make and taste great! I usually add toffee bits to the recipe just because I have a bunch in the pantry.

Chili I

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
Amazing chili! I like my chili thick so instead of beef broth I just added beef bullion so I got the flavor without the liquid. Once the flavors meld together the results are a rich, deep flavored dark chili! We loved it!

This is such an easy recipe! An easier way to measure the ingredients is, a bag of coconut, a can of sweetened condensed milk, and a dash of vanilla

I started to make this - I think it is missing a step. When do you add the beef that I just set aside?

This turned out nicely! I could not get escarole at the grocery so I used kale - it worked well. I chopped it up small. My husband is a vegan - I am always looking for yummy recipes for him! A+

We are vegans solely for health reasons so we used an egg white. We added about 3/4 cup frozen corn. Easy, quick, and YUMMY!!!! Excellent with vegan chili!

So good! I made it for a potluck at church. IT was the favorite. Today I am going to try to make a vegan version for my vegan dad - I'll let you know how it goes. I have also made it with other fruits: berries, apples, pears... Yummy!

Baked Pork Chops I

This was so good and easy. My husband loved it! He wants to try it next time with chicken. I did save the pan that I fried the chops in and deglazed it with the wine. I made the sauce in the pan then addres it to my baking dish. I did not want to miss out on ANY of the flavor! IT as delicious!!

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2006
Excellent everytime I make it! Very forgiving. I always use Italian sausage since it adds some spice. I use red potatoes with the skin left on. I do not drain the bacon fat - there is so much flavor there. I use a little extra garlic. Kale is definately the green of choice. It adds the RIGHT flavor. Cabbage or spinach just don't cut it. I use Swansons chicken broth instead of chicken base, it seems to be a little less salty. Add black pepper at the end to taste! MMmmmmm MMmmmmm - Thanks Nancy for the recipe!!

They worked for a quick treat for my 2 year old using a few things that I had in the house. She liked them. I would not ever make them for myself. The texture and taste were just not right.

Make Ahead Lunch Wraps

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2003
This is a great make-ahead recipe! I am making them for the second time. They freeze great! For a quick lunch - pull a frozen one out of the freezer, defrost for 1-2 min in the microwave, butter the outside, then grile on your griddle until they are brown (like grilled cheese sandwices). My husband loves them like that. Then serve with salsa and sour cream. THANKS FOR THE GREAT RECIPE!!!
