These were good, just needed some flavor added to them. I put in a teaspoon of cajun seasoning, and they came out really tasty. Thanks for the recipe!

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
Absolutely the best brownie recipe I have ever sunk my teeth into! Even my 6 year old who doesn't care for chocolate couldn't get enough of them! I added some semisweet chocolate chips to it, just to cut the sweetness a little. What an amazing brownie recipe! I'll never buy boxed mix again!!

Honey Glazed Pork Tenderloin

This was just OK. Even with the tons of modifications (added garlic, ginger, cracked pepper, etc) still lacked on some flavor. Good basic start for a recipe, but it needs more.

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2009
Excellent recipe! *TIP* For storing lasagna, in case you don't know already do NOT put it in the fridge covered with foil! The tomato sauce will devour the aluminum and absorb into the food. Use plastic wrap or some other plastic material. And if you cooked it in an aluminum pan, take it out and put it in something else before refridgerating! It doesn't take long for tomato based sauces like spaghetti sauce to eat away at that aluminum!! Thanks for the recipe!

It just tasted like unfrozen ice cream mix, nothing at all like egg nog...not even once you get past all the foam on top. Thanks anyway!

Chocolate Chex® Caramel Crunch

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
Really good!I'm not big on microwaving, so I prepared it like I would do caramel. I put the butter, sugar, and cornsyrup in a pan over medium low heat until it was melted, then increased the heat to get it bubbling (about med-high). I let it simmer for about 3 minutes, then stirred in the baking soda, let it simmer for about 15-30 sec more (stirring constantly) and then poured over the cereal. You have to work fast before it hardens up, or put your mixing bowl with cereal over another bowl of hot water to keep it "loose". I then drizzled with melted peanut butter chips, and YUM!

This was AHHHmazing! Followed the recipe (reducing the ketchup just a tad) brushed some sauce on the pork, wrapped it in bacon, then poured the rest of the sauce over it and baked it. WOW! Great recipe!!!

Chewy Peanut Butter Brownies

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2008
First, if you want these chewy and brownie-like DO NOT BEAT THE EGGS UNTIL THEY'RE FLUFFY that will only make it cake-like. In fact, don't use your mixer at all. Use a fork to mix together the butter and peanut butter, then mix in the sugars, then the egg and vanilla, and then the dry ingredients with a spoon. This will make them chewy and yummy like a real brownie! Great basic recipe though!

Wow, my super-picky 6 year old even liked these, despite the "green things" in it! I did add cumin, garlic, pepper, and a dash of chili powder to the sauce, and they were EXCELLENT! Great recipe, thanks!!

REALLY good, and definately worth the minimal "fuss" involved! I used boneless skinless chicken, added a little granulated garlic to the flour, and served it on egg noodles. Yummy!!!

Mom's Coleslaw

It was really good, but I think lacking some spice. I added some ground black pepper (a LOT) and celery salt, along with a little dash of paprika on top. It made it taste much better. Overall, great base recipe to tweak just how you like it. Thanks!

Pineapple Banana Bread

Wow! Really amazing! The pineapple kept it so moist, my kids and husband loved it! And, I even used egg beaters and whole wheat flour. I baked it as a 9x13 cake, and it was just delicious. Thanks for the great recipe!

Chewy Chocolate Cookies II

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2008
Really good recipe, with just a few changes I made to make them cholesterol-free and keep them from getting flat...Use baking powder instead of baking soda, and the cookies will hold their shape more. Also I substituted the margarine with butter flavored shortening and peanut butter--this also helps keep them from flattening out. I also used egg beaters and whole grain wheat flour. Even the kids thought they were FANTASTIC, even though they were "healthy". Great basic recipe, thanks!!!

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2008
The meatballs were fannntastic! I did omit one of the eggs (to lower the cholesterol) and substituted 1/4 milk, which kept them very moist. I was in a hurry, so I didn't make the homemade sauce, but they were still great cooked in the jarred variety! I wound up letting them simmer for about three hours (because we had a family emergency and I left them cooking), but I think that actually worked as a benefit, because they were SO tender and juicy! I didn't have ground round, so I used ground chuck...but next time I will make a point to get the leaner meat for this recipe because there was quite a bit of grease in the sauce that I had to skim off. I actually may try letting these slow cook in sauce in my crockpot next time, since the extra cook time made them so darn juicy. Overall, great meatballs!! I'll never cook them in the oven again! Thanks!

Mom's Mustard Style Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2008
This was a really good potato salad...just like my mom used to make. I didn't mash the potatoes all the way, I just kind of "mushed" them a little with a fork, still leaving some chunks, which turned out to be a really nice consistency--not too chunky but not too mushy either. If you don't like Miracle Whip, you won't like this recipe! My kids and hubby do, so it was a huge hit! I didn't have pimentos, but we didn't miss them at all. I did add some fresh ground pepper, a little garlic, and celery salt instead of the fresh celery. Hint: make sure you put salt in the water when you boil the potatoes, and after they come out, soak them in some cool water with a few tbs of vinegar..adds sooo much flavor. Overall great recipe, thanks! :)

Butter-Dipped Biscuit Squares

My family didn't like these at all, and my boys and husband are all bread lovers of any kind. They had no flavor and had the texture of hockey pucks. I would suggest putting some salt and maybe herbs inside them for flavor.

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2008
Great basic recipe! I made a few alterations: I substituted baking POWDER for the baking soda, because it keeps them fluffier, and used 1 1/2 cups brown sugar and 1/2 cup white sugar, to make them moist and chewier. Thanks for the recipe! :)
