So in my last blog I said I was going to conquer my fear of bread baking.  I never was any good at it, always ending up with a loaf that was either dense and tasteless or full of holes.  Well, I'm happy to say....by gosh I think I've got it!  In the past months I have been making homemade… MORE

About this Cook
I'm a mom of 2 boys (yes they keep me VERY busy), a student working on my bachelor's degree online, and a very avid cook.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook just about anything, from pies and cookies, to gourmet dishes like Chicken Marsala, Rack of Lamb...pretty much everything! (Except liver of course--YUCK!) :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is a HUGE deal in our family. It's the time of year when diets go out the window, and everyone enjoys great food and time together.
My cooking triumphs
I guess everytime I discover a new recipe, tweak it to just how we like it, and discover something new to add to our cookbook, it's a triumph.
My cooking tragedies
The worst thing I ever made was a gingerbread loaf cake (I think I actually got the recipe off of this site). My dog, who eats tin cans and motor oil, wouldn't even touch it. It was AWFUL!

Japanese Chicken Wings
WOW these are tasty!! I added fresh minced garlic to them, and they were absolutely amazing! Don't skip the breading and browning, it absolutely worth it and makes the flavor!

Rich Chocolate Frosting
Really chocolately and delicious!! It does harden up quite a bit if you refridgerate it, so if you want that soft, chocolate frosting make sure if you have refridgerated your cake you take it out well in advance of serving it. Delish!! :)

Homemade Flour Tortillas
These were really good and easy to make. I think they need a little more salt. I also noticed they were very tough the next day, better fresh of the griddle. Good recipe though, thanks!
