Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
Just came out of the oven and, slathered with sweet butter, it is absolutely delicious! I used one full cup of sugar by mistake and it was still fantastic. Very sweet and moist. Will definitely make again!

Why all the fuss? This was not even average. The basic Toll House recipe spread in a baking pan even tastes better. Very disappointing.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2008
What awesome stuff this is!! My guests loved it, and proclaimed it the best chili they had ever eaten. I didn't have the italian sausage, so I used extra ground beef instead. Next time I'm adding cubed sirloin. I used a can of diced green chilies instead of a green chile, and I left out the tabasco sauce - it was spicy enough without it! Thanks for a great recipe!

Empanadas

These were pretty good, but not totally great. Next time I'll roll the dough thinner, and maybe use powdered sugar instead of flour for rolling.

Five stars, IF you add a chopped, seeded cumcumber. Absolutely authentic tasting and fabulous!

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2006
Just finished making and eating this - it's fabulous! I used the whole block of cream cheese and garlic powder instead of fresh. I also used low fat alfredo sauce because that is all I had. It is every bit as good, if not better, than any restaurant dip I have ever tried!! Thanks so much for the recipe!

Gingerbread Men

As others have said, absolutely delicious!! I just finished baking a double batch and got about 18 cookies with an average-sized gingerbread boy cutter. My toddler and three year old loved them, as did my picky husband. I used raisins for eyes and buttons and they were perfect!! Thanks for a great recipe!

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2005
Delicious!! Made this for dessert on Easter and the entire family loved it! Made the mistake of using a small box of jello instead of the larger size, but since I added fresh strawberries instead of frozen, it worked out fine anyway. The sweet/salty pretzel crust is different and tasty...didn't have a problem with sticking as I sprayed the pan with cooking spray before pressing down the crust ingredients. I will definitely be making this again and again!

Homemade Lasagna

Reviewed: Oct. 13, 2004
This was really good! Next time, though, I will make 2X the sauce, using 1.5X in the lasagna and serving the rest on the side. I also used 8oz cottage cheese and 16 oz ricotta in the cheese mixture because it seemed too runny with the three eggs otherwise. Next time I may cut the eggs to two and use 8oz cottage cheese and 8oz ricotta. Very, very tasty, and will definitely make again.

Made this last night and it was really delicious! Used a large can of chopped tomatoes as others have suggested, and fennel Italian sausage. Very, very, very good!
