I am a busy graduate student. Thus, I'm always on the lookout for quick, healthy, budget-friendly meals. I love trying new foods, especially ethnic dishes. I usually am cooking for just me and my fiance, but I love hosting casual dinner parties.
My favorite things to cook
My signature dish is chicken Parmesan, and I love making it with homemade marinara sauce. It's a dish that I have experimented with a lot and have learned to cook really well.
I also love making curry chicken and trying variations from different regions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family is large enough that cooking for everyone is a real undertaking. So Thanksgiving is the only holiday where a full hot meal is actually made. And for as long as I can remember, my mom has made the pies - both pumpkin and apple. I still love helping peeling the apples, competing to see who can get the longest, unbroken peel!

My cooking tragedies
My recipe for brushetta requires that I toast the bread under the broiler before topping with the tomato mixture. But about 90% of the time, I get distracted and end up having to scrape off the burnt edges of the bread. :(
