After 9 yrs, our new addition, Jacob Patrick, aka Jake!
About this Cook
I am a dental hygienist with a degree in commercial food and baking and my husband is a professional baker. We live in Central Florida with our beautiful son, Jacob, 3 cats, & 2 dogs! I've been cooking for as long as I can remember. I'm a self-proclaimed foodie and love cooking gourmet dishes. I'm an organizer of a Gourmet Cooking Club with over 400 members. However, now with a new baby, I have to do things a bit simpler. I rarely cook the same thing twice and have the ultimate guniea pig, my husband, there is nothing he won't eat! Oh yeah, I am addicted to AR!
My favorite things to cook
I like trying different recipes every time I cook but I love baking desserts (not necessarily cakes), italian, healthy, and of course, gourmet food!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family did not have many cooking traditions. At Thanksgiving we had Sausage Stuffing which was my grandmother's recipe. At Christmas, mom and I would spend two days making over a dozen different cookies, wrapping them up and handing out as gifts.
My cooking triumphs
Beef tenderloin with cranberry and gorgonzola sauce. The meat literally melted in your mouth. Triple chocolate mousse torte.
My cooking tragedies
My first Thanksgiving in our brand new home...turkey was raw. Also, made my ex boyfriend his favorite dish...baked chicken and Stove Top, I never made Stove Top before and left it on the stove instead of letting it sit. He laughed about me going to cooking school and not being to cook Stove Top! And rice, I can not cook rice to save my life! And who could forget an undercooked cheesecake! The center had a pudding constiency. I was about to toss it however it was scarfed down within minutes. Everyone had dug in with their spoons!

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes
Just what I was looking for! These were so yummy! A tad on the dry side, will add some oil or applesauce next time. The frosting... out of this world! I have made so many different cream cheese frosting recipes but I have never had one that asked for butter. I think this may be the key to their super deliciousness!

French Beef Stew
A very good hearty meal. So easy to make. Mine was done in an hour with the baby carrots I used and potatoes so nice and tender. I added some cornstarch and water to thicken for our liking.

Roast Pork with Maple and Mustard Glaze
So tasty! I also basted this every 20 minutes and served the extra juice from the bottom of the pan at the table. My guests spooned it over their potatoes and used their bread to soak all the extra juices! Mmmmm!
