About this Cook
I love cooking to impress my husband and others. My love of cooking came from my Grandma and her "from scratch" methods. Everything my "Deendee" made was always the best. I strive to make memories for my family and hopefully in the future my children.
My favorite things to cook
By far DESSERTS! I love making desserts! Banana pudding is my favorite to make and I have even created my own recipe. YUMMY! After that is my recipe for Buffalo Chicken Tenders, my husbands favorite! I like cooking steaks and chicken on the grill and kabobs! Anything that makes my husband and his tummy happy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Deendee's pancakes on Saturday morning! They were so light and delightful and always hit the spot! Holidays were always fun too! We had enough food to feed an army. Some of my favorite's are: Waldorf Salad, Corn Casserole, Green Bean Casserole, the side of olives I used to stick on my fingers :), and my Deendee's pies!
My cooking triumphs
Mastering my husbands favorite, Buffalo Chicken. It is requested not only by him, but now my nephews. It's not hard for me to go through a three to four lb. bag of chicken, and more! They love it and I have adapted it to meet the standards of their hotter tongued crowd! I wanted to make green beans, and not having any bacon in your green beans is almost a crime in the south. So, I used meatloaf seasoning. Crazy as it sounds, my friends at work said they were the best green beans they have ever ate!
My cooking tragedies
Hamburger steaks....Salt anyone? Surely not, I had mine soooo salty they were almost inedible! YUCK!

Key Lime Cake II
I am giving this cake a 4 star rating ONLY because it was so moist and easy to make. I did like that aspect of it. I did not however think it tasted like key lime pie, it just tasted like a super sweet lemon cake. I even added extra key lime juice to the batter and icing/glaze. also did pierce the top all over with a fork then iced directly after bringing out of the oven. My husband took it to work this morning, we will see if the plate comes back empty and if so, they liked it. I will try this again only because I am a fan of citrus and it was truly very moist. This time though, I will top with a cook whip frosting only because I think a traditional frosting would make it that much sweeter and would be to heavy for the cake.

Granny Kat's Pumpkin Roll
Great Recipe! I spray my pans with cooking spray then line it with wax paper (some might not like wax paper) and put my batter in. When I pull the cake out of the oven, it is much easier to remove seemlessly! Less cracks if you let it cool for a full 20 minutes and kind of press it as you are unrolling! I was requested to bring something to a retreat one year, and brought one of these. It was gone the first night, had to go home the next day and make two more to bring back! Great reviews!
