Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
A very moist and delcious meatloaf - our favorite, I haven't tried another since finding this recipe! Only change I've ever made was to use crushed croutons instead of the crushed crackers - just simply yummy!

Snickerdoodle Mix in a Jar

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I am not a Snickerdoodle cookie addict - I love to have chocolate in my cookies - but this is a delicous cookie! I made it with butter flavored shortening since I was low on butter and they came out perfect - a bit crisp on the outside - but chewy in the middle. I also added 1 tsp. vanilla - just something I do with every cookie recipe. One thing I do with my sugar cookies is add 1 tsp vanilla/1/2 tsp orange flavor and I bet that would work with this cookie also - just a a bit of a change. These are now being made as 'cookie in a bag' to give out during the holidays. Right now they're adorable with Fall/Halloween decorations on the bag with the recipe on the back of the bag. Thanks for a great cookie! Makes about 4 doz or so, plenty for our family...so on day three I can tell you that they were still nice, fresh and chewy. The last two will be gone after I make my coffee this a.m.!

Baked Potato Salad I

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
This is delicious - as long as you don't use American Cheese! I use cheddar or the Mexican Blend instead and it is yummy. I prefer green onions and the half mayo/half sour cream mix. This is always devoured and enjoyed by all - my bunco group asks for this to be made as part of the snacks served at my house! I've had to pass this recipe on to many, many people who've tried it. It was the first item to disappear when I made it as a side dish for a camping potluck - and while I always make plenty....there were a few who couldn't help but whine about there being none left for thirds...

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
If you want true, pure, melt in your mouth peanut butter goodness - this is it. Warning: Have plenty of milk on hand - it's the perfect match. Good with coffee or tea, too. Just try it - you won't miss the flour and you will thoroughly enjoy this cookie!

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
Simply delicious!!! No frosting neeeded to taste absolutely yummy - but if you want to add a glaze or a dusting of powdered sugar it's great that way too. I made this for a craft night at my house (no frosting) and it was a hit! The gals couldn't believe the flour was missing from it! Will be making this often at our house!

Good for an easy and light meal - served it with a salad - made some rice to go with it if we were really starving. A keeper at our house!

Easy Chocolate Chip Pound Cake

Easy and yummy - I've made it with chocolate and vanilla pudding - both are just as good. I don't add a glaze, I just give it a dusting of powdered sugar and it's perfect!

Chewy Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2009
My family LOVES these cookies - the only thing I do differently is add a cup of peanut butter - I don't measure it, I just guess by the look of the spoonful! These cookies are soft, but not crumbly and they stay soft for days. The only reason I know this is because I triple the recipe for camping trips so that they last more than a day or two - I keep them in a tightly seal Rubbermaid container! And our camping buddies love them too - I have been asked for the recipe more times than I can count. Everyone who tries them says 'hey, these cookies have PB in them' because there is a very definite PB taste. I always use a name brand peanut butter, not sure if that makes a difference?

Jalapeno Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Aug. 14, 2009
A very easy to make, berry delicious jelly! I cleaned out the seeds/membranes, and there is just a hint of heat to this jelly. Definitely leave in some seeds or, if you want some real heat, I'd suggest adding a habanero or maybe two! The strawberry mixed with the jalapeno gives a sweet tangy flavor, you know it isn't plain old strawberry, and someone who doesn't know what's in it might just sit and wonder what the secret ingredient is that produces such a delightful taste. Tried it with cream cheese and it was perfect. Easy for the first time jelly maker - delicious enough to think it was made by a pro! Made 8 - 8oz. jars for me! Thanks a bunch for this great recipe!

Chocolate Wave Zucchini Bread

This is a delicous bread and you can expect compliments and requests for the recipe! I've made it with and without nuts - yummy both ways. It keeps moist for days and freezes well too! One more way to get the little people to eat zucchini :)

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2009
I can only say that the previous two reviews must be from two people who didn't follow the recipe. These are delicious, fluffy pancakes and my family LOVES them. I have always added vanilla to pancake mixes and I did the same with this recipe for that nice little added flavor. The bad news is that once I started making these we have never been satified with a box mix - sorry Bisquick! Also, if you want Buttermilk pancakes - just use buttermilk in place of milk - they're great too!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

Absolutely delicous - a hit everytime it's served! I can't count how many times I've given this recipe to guests. I toss everything into a bowl and then scoop it into a mini crockpot to heat up - you can't get more simple than that! If you love hot wings - you'll love this1 Both ranch and blue cheese work fine in this recipe!

This is the recipe to try if you want real buttermilk pancakes. This recipe could rate higher than 5 - no doubt about it! Fresh buttermilk or the vinegar/milk version will work...just try them - you will not want to use a mix ever again!

Baked Potato Salad II

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
You have to try this recipe - it is one of the best ever potato recipese on this site. You will be asked for the recipe, my family loves it, my bunco group asks for it when it's my turn to host! I do a 50/50 mayo/sour cream and use green onion. Delicious enough to impress the family for a potluck or to dress up a hot dog or hamburger dinner as a yummy side dish. Try it - you'll love it!

Root Beer Float Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2009
This cake does have a nice mild root beer flavor - but the texture of the cake was off. It was too moist even though I let it cook longer. Too airy and I was afraid to use the glaze! Drizzled a bit on it and it just didn't seem like it would hold more that a tablespoon or two without it going soggy. Sorry to say we ended up tossing this one out......

Very, very good teriyaki sauce. You can use this on anything. As written it is delicious - you can always adjust to your taste...I like bit more ginger and garlic and sometimes I add a Tablespoon of seseme oil for a change. No need to by bottled sauce once you try this recipe!

Buffalo Chicken Wings III

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2005
DELICIOIUS!! This is THE BEST Hot Wing recipe!!! You've got to try it....easy to put together, better than fried. Don't add the cayenne unless you want your eyes to water.....it's got plenty of kick without it - too much for kids unless they're used to it. I still can't believe how great they were - definitely going to make it again this weekend!! Thanks Walt!!

Spicy Strawberry Salad

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
This is the BEST Strawberry Salad on this site!!! The dressing is what does it - although I leave out the poppy seeds - just personal preference! My hubby doesn't care for strawberry's but will eat this salad without a problem, so will my 2 y/o. I've also added some chopped avocado or left out the mushrooms if I didn't have any....still a great salad! It's fine with just romaine lettuce and instead of chopped pecans (yummy) I find myself tossing in a handful of sunflower seed for a change also. I prefer the dressing at room temperature and I think it thickens up bit this way also. My alsolute favorite salad and it's converting alot of friends and family to salad eating too!
