Jammin' Tarheel Chili

This was my first time ever making chili....it was worth it! It is different than the one my dad makes, but definitely good. I cut some of the spices in half since we are not a spicy family, and it still had a little heat, but not enough to be too hot. The only thing I did different was to brown the meat, onions, garlic and celery first together and then threw it along with everything else into a crock pot. I also omitted the mushrooms since we don't eat them. I made this on a chilly day along with the Apple Crisp II from this site...way to warm up the day! :-)

yummy, yummy, yummy! I had rave reviews for this cake! I made chocolate w/ coke and canned vanilla frosting. I am making the next one with cherry coke and chocolate :-)

No Bake Cookies III

I made this today for the 2nd time and made the following changes because it wasn't chocolaty enough last time: 1/4 c plus 1 TBS of cocoa powder. Otherwise I followed exactly and they are awesome! Just like my mom's (I keep losing her recipe!)Thanks for the recipe! They didn't get hard and crumbly, just smooth and glossy and yummy! :-)

Salisbury Steak Deluxe

I have no idea what happened, I followed the recipe exactly and I ended up with a pan of hamburger mush! :-( The patties fell apart completely! It looked and smelled great to start...any suggestions? We had to dump it out...such a waste of meat! :-(

Caroline's Chocolate Fudge Frosting

This was my first attempt at home made chocolate frosting and it was AWESOME!!! I made no changes, but I was worried about the amount of powdered sugar...we buy it in 7lb bags, so I had to guess how much 1lb was..I must have guessed right because it turned out wonderful! I used it to frost some chocolate cake in ice cream cone cupcakes...just something fun for the kids while on spring break :-) Thanks so much for this recipe!

Garlic Chive Chicken

This tasted really good, but my "sauce" thickened so much trying to finish cooking the chicken it wasn't a sauce anymore! Maybe that's why some reviewers said they made double! Anyway, my hubby liked it and I did too...I even roasted the garlic...that was really easy! I will try it again and add more "sauce".

Best Ever Banana Bread

I used vanilla yogurt in place of the buttermilk and it tasted great! The reason for the "3" was because of the length of time to cook...the outside was almost burned while the inside was still raw. The smaller loaves turned out beautifully though! So my suggestion is to NOT use the big pan AT ALL, but to use only the small pans. It tasted great...not as good as my dad's, but still great in it's own way.

Layered Spinach Mostaccioli

This was ok...I think if I would have used a different sauce I would have given it a "5". I also think that this can be mixed all together instead of layered...maybe just a cheese layer to make it cheesy like it was this time. I didn't really care for the "layer" of spinach either. We do like spinach in dishes like this, so next time I will use a better sauce and mix the spinach in...I'm sure it will get a "5" then! Thanks so much for the idea! I am always looking for new meat free pasta dishes other than spaghetti! :-)

Chicken Pot Pie IX

This was the best pot pie I have made that didn't come out of a box! It would have received 5 stars, but it was a tad too peppery, next time I won't measure it. There were no leftovers! My hubby is pretty picky and he loved this! We said next time we would choose our crust carefully instead of using whatever we had..the one we had was slightly sweet. This will be a keeper for us!

These were surprisingly good! I made them for my Sunday School class last Christmas where I have a child with an egg allergy. Her parents were shocked that there was such a recipe! They were very easy to make and really good!

Caramel Apple Salad

I love this recipe! I also gave a 4 because it doesn't say what to do with the extra cup of topping and also because I like more peanuts so I chop up more and mix them in as well as sprinkle them on top. I have made this about 4 times since finding it last summer and it is always a big hit with no leftovers!

Easy Add-In Macaroni and Cheese

WOW!!! This is GREAT! We eat TONS of mac and cheese (blue box,like 5 times a week!) and this was soooo FILLING! Not a fan of cream of mushroom, so used cream of chicken instead, and added some frozen peas to the water the last 2 minutes of boiling. If onion was added it might almost taste like the "potluck" or "Wedding" potatoes...have to think about that next time! Thank you for a new favorite! :-)

Simple Spinach Lasagna

This was wonderful! I have made "spinach lasagna" before but it was never this good! I think it was because the spinach was in the sauce instead of the cheese or seperate. Even my picky 5 year old ate it! I really wanted to make something like this today, but didn't have lasagna noodles so I used egg noodles and it turned out great! Thanks so much for a new family favorite!
