Apple Pie by Grandma Ople
Wow am I ever glad my friend recommended this recipe! Makes for a wonderful rich flavour. I used less butter (all I had was salted and it worked fine) and sugar, also added cinnamon, mixed the syrup with the apples then baked with a full vented crust. Fantastic! Can not wait to make it again, will add some nutmeg next time as well as brush the top crust with egg white and sprinkle some sugar as some reviewers have mentioned. I do have to say, to those (rare) reviews that said the taste was bland, add some cinnamon, that is all that is missing to make this recipe perfect!
