South Dakota Sunflower Seed Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2007
This was a very different type of cookie. Nutty and savory-sweet. I really liked it. I made a fwe changes due to the other comments. I used half of the baking soda, added a half cup more of coconut and sunflower seeds, 1/4 tsp of salt and also an egg (which hlped bind the batter better)

Chickpea Curry

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2006
I just loved this dish! I added one tbsp of chicken bulion powder to make it a little more savory (which is the way I am used to it at my favorite Indian restaurant) I also cut the cayenne down to 1?2 as tsp because I was serving this to my kids as well. It was a hit! Thank you for this recipe, I will use it again and again!

Whipped Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2006
Perfect light and crispy, melt in your mouth cookie. I even cheaped out and used Becel margerine. I think the key to this recipe is long wipping time. I added chocolate chips after the wipping and used a floured bottom of a glass to lightly press for a uniform flat look. I used a mini 1tsp cookie scoop to measure the dough. The result were cookies that looked and tasted just like the Dad's chocolate chip shortbread cookies that my husband loves. Thanks for the recipe!

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
Mmmmm so good and so easy! I have made this twice and the second time I added 1/4 tsp of salt to the caramel and used 1/4 cup less chocolate because I thought the chocolate over did the caramel. The bit of salt also helped the caramel to stand out a bit more. I love anything with caramel though, so if you are in it for the chocolate leave it as it is. This recipe is a keeper for sure! Watermelon Cookie

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2005
What a tedious cookie to make! But what awesome results! Not for people who like the easy way out. I made it even harder on myself because I didn't have mini chocolate chips so I ended up individually cuting the regular chips in half (insane I know)! But everyone was impressed and they taste great. I washed an empty soup can to cut out the circles and that seemed to be the perfect size baked for 8 min. Cute, cute, cute cookies!

Easy Platz (Coffee Cake)

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
A good use for wild blackberries. I found that like the other reviewers said, it was not done in the time that was prescribed. I was afraid of the top being over done so I lowered the temperature 25 degrees and baked for twenty minutes more. Turned out well after the time adjustment. Pretty and tasty!

Chocolate Crinkles II

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2005
These were pretty good. Not as chocolatey as I would have liked another recipe that I tried, that was like this one, used melted bakers chocolate and that might have been what made the difference. These were good none the less and I will be making them again.

These were quite good. My husband and kids really liked them. I am not much of a pancake person and I liked them. We had them as a side dish with dinner. My family liked them with syrup I prefered them plain. We will be making these again. Thanks for the recipe! Barb in Vancouver Canada

Sugar Cookie Drops

Reviewed: May 27, 2005
What a yummy cookie. I added 1tsp of almond flavoring and 1/4tsp extra salt like other reviewers suggested. I used my pampered chef small cookie scoop to shape the balls so it made the job quick and easy. I rolled the first batch in white sugar as the recipe called and I could see that it was going to make alot of cookies. So for the next pan I used cinnamon and sugar mixed together and the next cocoa and sugar. It made for a nice variety and quite beautiful! I will be keeping this recipe forever. Barb in BC Canada

Banana Pancakes I

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
I've made these a few times and always hope to get the hang of them, but each time they are under done. They taste great and smell wonderful. My only guess is to add more flour because the batter seems too runny. They always turn out thin and rubbery for me without altering the recipe. I hope to figgure this out!! Barb in BC Canada

Maybe I did something wrong, they tasted good but they were very heavy an rubbery. I don't think that I will make these again because I don't know what I could do to improve consistancy. Barb in BC Canada.

Yummy and pretty, just make sure to let it cool enough before flipping it out of the pan. I wanted to see what it looked like and the cake broke apart. I will try it again and let it cool properly. Thanks form Barb in BC Canada

Yummy, yummy! I tried something like this at a potluck and wanted the recipe but never got it. This was quite the same. A great hearty side dish (my husband who hates sour cream loved it and was none the wiser!) I'll be adding this to the rotation for sure. Barb in BC Canada

Melt in Your Mouth Marinade

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2004
I've gotta say the thought of using a whole cup of soy sauce kinda freaked me out. I don't even really like soy sauce, but it turned out to be just wonderful. The only change that I made was to add 1/4 cup of brown sugar because we like our marinade on the sweeter side. I have even used this on steaks that had less that an hour to marinate. Tender and tasty every time! Barb in BC Canada

Big Guy Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2004
This is hands down the BEST fruit pie crust. I have used this with strawberry, blueberry and even lemon pie. Any recipe that needs a sweet baked crust this is the one that I will go with. Everybody who tries it demands that I give them the recipe. It is so crisp, quite like shortbread. And EASY! I'd give it 10 stars if I could.
