Chocolate Candy Bar Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2009
The best cake. Ever! I crushed up chocolate raspberry milano cookies instead of candy bars. That's the way to to, otherwise, too sweet, I think.

Banana Muffins II

Very good, but recipe can be made even better if you only use 1/2 the flour and use Quaker oats for the other half--you'll find a better textured muffin and it's healthy!!!! Also added vanilla and cinnamon and mini choc.chips for added flavor. A winner all around!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2005
Loved these! A few suggestions, though: instead of all flour, I added 3/4 cup flour and 3/4 cup Quaker oats to make healthier and heartier (the oats make the texture a bit more firmer, which we liked). Also used 1/2 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup white. Added a bit more spice than recipe called for and added the mini chocolate chips so as not to overwhelm the pumpkin flavor.

Sorry, not very good. Way too oniony and the presentation is not pretty. Won't be making this again.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries

Deeelicious! Deelightful! This was a big hit at my daughter's Valentine's Day tea. I used toothpicks for the dunking and used styrofoam coffee cups as a holder as they dried.

Eileen's Meatloaf

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2004
I'm giving this recipe 4 stars because I liked it. The rest of my family didn't think it was so great--maybe they just don't like any kind of meatloaf. I added a ketchip, brown sugar and mustard topping per suggestions. Will make it again when I'm feeding a meatloaf-loving crowd.

Cheese and Pasta in a Pot

Very good meal. I added italian seasoning to the meat and sauce mixture for added flavor. Seems to make much more than 8 servings--the way we eat, we definitely got at least 12 servings out of this. Will probably halve recipe next time.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2003
Excellent dish! After I loosely mashed the potatoes, I put them in the mixer and whipped them to make them extra creamy. The smooth texture of the potatoes nicely contrasts with the crunchy streusel topping. Can't wait to make for Christmas.

Calico Squash Casserole

YIKES! After so many wonderful reviews, I hate to give this a one star, but I thought it tasted terrible. A 4 oz jar of pimento just overwhelmed this dish and made the only thing rather funky! Sorry, but I'll be deleting this from my recipe box.

Banana Crumb Muffins

My family truly enjoyed these. The crumb topping makes it extra sprecial, though next time I might add some walnuts to the batter and to the topping just for added taste and texture.

Impossible French Apple Pie

Excellent pie! I had my doubts when I went to pour the Bisquick and egg mixture (what was to become the crust) over the apples (I thought it looked rather thin). It bakes up just fine as long as you follow the directions.

Very good! Although I do suggest adding some Italian seasoning just to spice it up a little...probably good with a little onion powder added too.

The frosting was good (you must melt the butter to get frosting to right consistency). Brownies themselves were just so-so. Wouldn't make again, prefer the Ghiradelli's much more. Sorry.

Hot Fudge Sundae Cake

Easy and simple recipe to put together and execute. I didn't give it five stars because the cake had a bit of a baking powder after taste. Defintitely serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream to cut the seetness.
