Unbelievable Rolls

These were everything I wanted in a roll. They tasted great and were pretty to look at.

Apricot Cream Cheese Thumbprints

This was awesome. I love Kolacky but don't love the work involved rolling out the dough, this was a great substitute, so easy and so good!

Graham Crackers

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2011
I was making magic cookie bars and had already melted butter for the crust when I realized my graham cracker crumbs were stale. So I made this recipe and pressed it into the pan with the 1/2 cup of melted butter already in the pan and baked the "crust" for 10 minutes at 350 I then finished the recipe as usual with the condensed milk, choc chips, nuts and coconut then baked at 350 for 25 minutes and I think this crust is even better than the original. Great recipe!

Raw Brownies

These would actually be healthier with cocoa. Carob has a lot of fat in it, when we were kids my mom was a health nut and basically ruined our childhood with that nasty stuff, it wasn't until we were grown and it was too late that they started reporting that carob wasn't very good for you.

This really was delicious and was very easy to make, I've made it with and without the extra sugar and like it both ways.

Sweet and Sour Chicken I

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2011
This was really good, almost perfect for me. The only thing I found wrong with it was that the sweet and sour sauce didn't have quite enough flavor. I think next time I'll try adding maybe a little orange juice or maybe use more pineapple juice in place of some of the water.

Grandpa's Classic Coney Sauce

Really good, I will definitely make this again. Also if you don't want to get out your mixer or food processor can get the meat fine if you use a potato masher on it as you're cooking it.

Apricot Pork Chops

My husband's aunt has been using this recipe except on chicken for years. I didn't like it as well on pork but the kids ate it well.

Pizza Dough I

This was by far the easiest AND best tasting crust I've ever made. I prefer a softer crust as I have young children so I use a baking sheet instead of a stone and it turned out wonderfully.

Flatlander Chili

This is really good for kids who hate cooked tomato pieces but love chili and each bowl can easily be adjusted for heat with the addition of hot sauce.

I thought this was pretty good but yeah in a pinch not bad and filling which is all that counts, good with a can of tomatoes too, juice included.

My only complaint with the recipe was that it didn't say why type of cheddar to use. I use sharp or extra sharp and it had a good flavor. Will definitely make again

Fish Tacos with Honey-Cumin Cilantro Slaw and Chipotle Mayo

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2009
Next time I won't bread the fish I'll just saute it after marinating mostly because to me crunchy fish isn't essential though for some people it was what they enjoyed most. Also I thought the honey/cumin brush on after wasn't a neccessary step either as the cilantro/chipotle/slaw kind of overpowered that taste. Very delicious recipe however and I would recommend it highly to anyone but also recommend that they make it as-written the first time and decide for themselves.

Texas Spoon Bread

Reviewed: May 1, 2009
Really good and as the author notes it's a great side with soups and stews especially but anytime you want a nice bread side to go with a side and main dish. As one person noted, really good with beans or chili ON it as well.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
These were very good tasting. The only complaints I have were that the bottoms started to burn after 4 minutes of being on an insulated cookie sheet in the 400 degree oven so I had to cook at 350 for about 12 minutes. This might not have been a problem with the recipe, it might just have been my oven. Otherwise there was no problem and everyone loved these cookies.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2008
These were the best rolls I've ever made and I've tried almost everything. I didn't mix it or let it rise once in a bread machine because I don't have one but they turned out wonderfully anyway and I didn't have to knead forever either and the dough was never sticky. Barely needed flour to roll them out. They turned out soft and fluffy.

Amazing Pork Chops in Cream Sauce

Reviewed: May 11, 2008
These were delicious. The first time I made it exactly as the recipe stated, adjusting the cooking time for my thicker chops. The second time I added a heaping tablespoon of flour to some of the cream before adding it to thicken it a little. Very Very good! Thank you for submitting it!

Fried Mozzarella Cheese Sticks

These were really good. My daughter's favorite so I've made them a few times and they are MUCH easier to work with if the cheese sticks are room temperature instead of cold when you egg and bread them. GREAT RECIPE! Thanks!!!

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2007
This was really good though on the second time I made it I cut down the tomato paste to 3/4 can instead of the whole thing. Also for the person who wanted to cut down the acid, 1-3 teaspoons of sugar really helps. I add it to all of my tomato sauce recipes, tasting after each teaspoon to make sure it won't be noticably sweet.
