Married with two kids and a business owner. There is no such thing as a day off. I wouldn't have it any other way, though. My biggest relevant peave is when people make their own modifications to a recipe and then give it a bad rating. That's not fair.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook from scratch. There's nothing like it! I absolutely LOVE to bake. Cookies, cakes, pies, I'll even make things up! I guess I should actually start a real recipe box/book.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I still love cooking Soul Food. Mac & Cheese, greens, and sweet potato pie MUST be on the menu at my house. It is truly a labor of LOVE. 48 hours straight...gosh I wish we would have installed a double oven. Next time!
My cooking triumphs
I made baked macaroni and cheese for my great Aunt's funeral. EVERYONE raved, including my Aunt Linda who is hailed as THE family cook. I had truly arrived! My cookies are in constant demand, and my pickiest girlfriend will tell anyone 'if she made it, eat it'.
My cooking tragedies
I still have yet to successfully make a rotisserie chicken on my grill. I COMPLETELY charred three birds so far. You just can't be in a rush and turn up the heat then start talking on the phone. The hubby called them Yosemite Sam chickens. I will conquer it this summer!
