Oatmeal Chocolate Coconut Chewy

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2010
I specifically chose this recipe because of the coconut. My husband loves coconut but I am not a big fan and figured they would not be a temptation for me. I am happy to say I was wrong about that... they are delicious! I used a small "cookie scoop" and got 6 dozen cookies. Baked them for 8 minutes. Omitted the walnuts because I didn't have any. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
This was really easy and I will make it again. I followed the recipe exactly (with a BEEF roast). I preferred the gravy served with rice instead of potatoes. I tried it both ways. The sweetness in the gravy goes better with rice for me and my husband agreed. I would think it would be good with pork or even chicken. Thanks!

Low-Fat Blueberry Bran Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
These were really delicious and so healthy! I made them exactly as the recipe specified. (Which I believe is what you should do if you are going to give a valid review). I did spray my muffin pan. I used frozen blueberries. I will make these again and again.

Bat Cupcakes

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2005
Since this whole recipe is the bat thing, I am rating it low. I will claim to be a good cook, but I don't have an artistic bone in my body and I could not get my 2 cookie halves and a hershey kiss to resemble a bat in any way shape or form. This recipe definitely needs a picture AND more specific instructions. (Point facing "forward." What is that???) Sorry but I just couldn't get it to work. Also, if I ever do get something that looks like a bat, I'd probably use white or orange frosting so you can actually see it, instead of the dark background of chocolate.

Caramel Peanut Fudge

Reviewed: May 24, 2005
This was wonderful. Everyone wanted the recipe! I read the reviews and lined my pan with parchment paper, cut the squares and served them in paper cupcake liners. By accident I used semi-sweet chips instead of milk chocolate and it was great. (I like dark chocolate anyway.) I did use butterscotch chips in only one layer. Putting it in the freezer between layers made the process much faster. (Be aware that when you add another layer it will cool quickly on the frozen layer--be ready and work quickly.) I agree with a few people that it isn't exactly like a snickers, but who cares! Very good.

Wonderful! Don't omit the green peppers unless you really don't like them. They add so much!

Goose and Kraut

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2003
My husband had already de-boned the goose, so we baked it that way and we only added 1 jar of sauerkraut (2 seemed like a lot.)It was the best goose I'd ever tasted, but I am not a big fan of goose. My husband, who loves goose loved the meal and the goose was quite tender. The sour of the kraut and sweetness of the applesauce and brown sugar make a nice combination.

Baked Flan

Reviewed: May 14, 2003
I followed the recipe exactly and after 50 minutes, the top was dark brown but the center wasn't even a bit set--completely liquid. I am an accomplished cook, and have no idea what what went wrong. If someone can tell me, I'd like to know!
