World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2009
WOW! My husband (who dislikes scones) said I thought that scones were suppose to be yucky and dry. These are good and moist. I agree. They are wonderful!!! I traded raisins for craisins and added some fresh lemon zest. This is a recipe that I will do over and over again. Thank you for sharing!!!!

Luscious Slush Punch

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Fantastic! I made this for my bunko party especially for all of my pregnant friends, and spiked it for everyone else by the glass. It was a huge hit. My pregnant friends were happy to have a drink that made them feel like an adult. They also started to guard the punch bowl as it started to run out, saying "this drink is for the pregnant people only". I will warn you to take TUMS, as it is very acidic.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
YUMMY! I served this to my close friends that HATE Rootbeer. They couldn't believe that it was made with rootbeer. You can't taste it... I used a 4 lb pork loin roast (that was on sale for BOGO) with 4 cups of rootbeer and 2-18oz bottles of Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar Barbecue Sauce. It made @ 10 large sandwiches. YUMMY! 3 weeks later, I made this recipe again with a 4-1/2 lb Boston Butt (@$7) and it also was Yummy... The only difference between the two (as far as I could taste) was the "Butt" had a little more fatty taste to it...Butt (pun intended), both turned out fantastic.

Pork Chops with Blue Cheese Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This was wonderful!!!! I didn't have whipping cream or Blue Cheese, so I used light cream and Feta Cheese. It was so yummy that I ate all of my chop (I usually eat only 1/2, as I am not a pork lover), and then I was eyeing up my husband's... My husband said that he only wants pork chops done this way from now on.

Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I needed to use up some of my oranges and found this recipe. I am glad that I did! The muffins were yummy! I did take the suggestions to add more sugar, juice and zest. I used 3/4 c sugar, a whole orange - zested and then the juices from that orange. I plan to modify this recipe for my friend that has a child with milk, nut, soy and egg allergies. Thank you so much for the great recipe! 2/7/09 - I substituted the egg for 2 TB of cornstarch and gave the recipe to my friend... She made the muffins and sent an email saying this "These were soooooooo good! I even made a glaze with orange zest, powdered sugar and orange juice. The first batch went so fast, I had to make another! Thank you!

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
I usually purchase Pillsbury sugar cookie dough to make our cut out cookies. No more! I will be using this recipe. I did take the advice of only using 3 cups of flour then use the rest when rolling. I also used butter. Thanks for sharing!

WOW!!!!!! Yummy! I love cranberry sauce, but never made it myself. This recipe is not only delicious, but easy! I added walnuts that I crushed in my hand (to make small pieces). I ate the whole thing all by myself within 24 hours of making it. Thank you for sharing!

Yummy! Prior to cooking, I brushed with egg whites and allowed my children to decorate with sprinkles and decorating sugars of all sorts. The dough is easy to roll and taste just great. Thank you for sharing! I will use this over and over again.

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2004
I use this as a back up for "Tastefully Simple Beer Batter Bread"... It is good, but not the same, as other people have written. I did a taste taste with family and neighbors and 4 out of 5 people chose Tastefully Simple over this one. However, this is the next best thing and I use this recipe often when I am out of the other. But, you must change the sugar into 1/3 cup, as others suggest. Thank You for sharing.

This recipe is very yummy! I added fresh garlic (and some Garlic Garlic from Tastefully Simple) and used salted butter then omitted the garlic salt. My husband is on Atkin's diet so I put it on stirfried chicken with a meadly of veggies. He loved it. I served the rest of the family the same with some fettuccine. It was a big hit with all. Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2003
Someone wanted to know how to make this without a bread machine, here is how. Dissolve the yeast in the warm milk in a large bowl. Mix in the sugar, margarine, salt, and eggs. Add flour and mix well. Knead the dough into a large ball, using your hands dusted lightly with flour. Put in a bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place about 1 hour, or until doubled in size. Then pick up with rolling out the dough. Hope this helped!

Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2003
Before making this dish, I read the reviews... Wished I hadn't! The dish is fine the way it is, and I would have enjoyed the taste better, not wondering what it would have been like if I used less liquid. This is a casserole dish, more like bread pudding is accurate, not like traditional french toast. You have to squeeze the bread in the 9x13 dish... but can be done eazily. My suggestion to you is to try it the way it is intented... then try it other ways too. Make sure that your oven is giving you an accurate temp., as you will under cook if not. This is a good base recipe... I find that you can make this recipe fit you needs for taste, which is why I gave it 5 stars. If you like less liquid you can do it, less sweet can be done too. This is a recipe that you can make yours! But keep in mind that if you are reading the reviews, you may be disappointed with the intial taste... Serve it to someone that hasn't read the reviews and see what they have to say. Thanks Laura for sharing!
