About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new recipes for soups, casseroles, pasta dishes. I am always on the look out for easy week night dinners that I can make for my family. I really like to try new things and new flavors.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have finally mastered my Grandmothers homemade potato bread recipe. I use to be very scared to use yeast and now I am very comfortable with making homemade breads. It is my tradition to make homemade rolls and homemade cinnamon-raisin bread for Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
Making successful rolls!!
My cooking tragedies
Well when I first got married I made this horrible bisquick recipe, and my first attempt at gravy.......... well lets say I could hang wall paper with it.

Tex-Mex Burger with Cajun Mayo
These were hit at the 4th of July Bar B Que and everyone loved the taste. I made them into "mini" burgers and used the Hawaiian rolls for the buns. Since they were smaller, no one had to choose between the brats and burgers...they could have both! Thanks for the great recipe and jazzing up the ordinary hamburger!

Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken
The honey mustard marinade/sauce is just right! The grilled chicken was good...but the next night I tossed it with some romaine lettuce and salad fixins and used the sauce as a salad dressing, and this was a phenomenal combination. Will definitly use this again for chicken salads and the dressing will go into my salad dressing folder to use again. Thanks for the post.

Country Fried Squash
My mother in law and I thought they were good even though my husband or kids wouldn't touch them. I did add some seasoning to the flour/corn meal. I also made some onion rings with the mixture. Simple, easy, and a great way to use up some of the squash from the garden.
