About this Cook
I have two little kids and love to cook so I am always trying to carve out time to experiment more
My favorite things to cook
I love to grill chicken and meats, fresh cooked vegetables, curries, soups, and I love trying out new fancy appetizers!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Getting ready for thanksgiving in my parents house for sure. My sisters and I have "our dish" that we always make. I spend the rest of the time trying to follow my mom around the kitchen and figure out how she is seasoning everything! My stuffing just never comes out the same!
My cooking triumphs
My father told me that the kreplach I made was as good as his grandmothers-now that was high praise! I also made warm chocolate cakes in ramekins from Wolfgang Pucks cookbook that was a big hit. Everyone was wowed.
My cooking tragedies
I don't have any greek tragedy of cooking to regale you with. I have more of a meal issues that happened while I was living in the Carribean. Once I wanted to make a Greek Salad and bought local lettuce that needed to be soaked overnight due to bugs. I got up in the morning and went into the kitchen. My bowl was full of floating bugs, but the little green inch worm that was standing at the tip of an unsubmerged piece of lettuce did me in! I gave the lettuce away and decided we would have eggs. As I went to crack my first egg that night, I reached in and felt something furry-ish. I looked down and saw bits of feather coming out of the egg! I screamed and made my husband come in and throw it all away. We had cereal that night.

Smoked Salmon Tortellini with Bechamel Sauce
The base was very nice. I like the hint of nutmeg. I wanted something a beat creamier so I added in a liberal amount of parmesan cheese which was delicious! I also cut down on calories a bit by using smart balance butter substitute and skim milk.
