I'm married to the same wonderful woman since 1979 and we have a good-natured, terrific son.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make fresh bread and biscuits. Organizing and executing large BBQ parties are the most interesting and challenging for me since they frequently include several types of beef, chicken, pork, fish, and vegetables.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am in the process of documenting all the recipes that our family has been preparing for years. I hope to give this volume to my son when he gets married.
My cooking triumphs
Turning out my first loaf of italian bread was easier that I thought and worth the effort. Making a really good batch of biscuits was a lot harder than I thought but I eventually found a fool-proof recipe that I loved. I discovered that cooking (greatly assisted by family and friends) for groups of 100 or more can be tremendously satisfying.
My cooking tragedies
Many of the first biscuits I turned out for my family were inedible. But the worst was my first attempt at making Osso Buco; rubbery with a river of tasteless gravy.
