I LOVE TO COOK! :) I hate to shop unless we're talking about hitting the market, then watch out! I can literally spend an hour or more in the supermarket and I'm in heaven when I do. My pantry is full of ingredients more than food because I bore easily and love trying new things. My family members are my greatest guinea pigs, are super open-minded and adventurous and more often than not flip for everything I make. I come from great stock. My mom's an AWESOME cook! I'm true to my Puerto Rican roots, but love to cook all types of cuisines.
My favorite things to cook
CHEESE, CHEESE and MORE CHEESE! :) If I could put it in my coffee I'd be a happy camper! I grow my own herbs and vegetables hydroponically, so I'm always trying new and exotic combinations to wow friends and family alike.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Latin, Asian and Italian top the charts for me, though I love to try unique recipes of my own that don't necessarily correspond to any particular style or genre. I guess they're "Cindy-isms." :)
My cooking triumphs
Too many to list. I make an awesome pot roast, LOVE my slow cooker, am a master on the grill, my tuna casserole is to die for (did I mention cheese?), I make a cheesecake that Junior's in Brooklyn would cry over, and excel in all languages Quiche :)
My cooking tragedies
I once made a batch of chocolate chip cookies that I added WAY too much baking powder to, and they came out like petrified rocks. It was as though I was preserving them for future generations to visit at the cookie museum. Saved for all time. Sad!
