I am a married 47 year old women with three grown children, 2 grandchildren who has returned to college after taking a 25 year break. I am finally going to get my degree and become a Registered Healthcare Information Technician (RHIT). My goal is to become an advocate for people to create Personal Health Records (PHR) for themselves in electronic format. I have always loved to cook from as long as I can remember. I would spend summers as a child on my Grammy's farm in Vermont and we would pick fresh vegetables from her beautiful garden, milk cows, collect eggs, and go fishing. She taught me how to make butter and she even had a mold with rose engraved in it. I just loved to unmolded the butter and look at the pretty rose. We made donuts from scratch and I so enjoyed cutting the donut dough but Grammy always dropped the donuts in the oil. This was how my admiration for farm fresh food was born thanks to my wonderful Grammy.
My favorite things to cook
Is anything with fresh ingredients. I am going through a Thai phase right now because I love the balance of flavors, sweet, salty, sour, and spicy. I have a kaffir lime tree and grow lemongrass, thai basil and galengel root (Thai Ginger)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I just love when the four generation of women which includes my mom, my self, my daughter and my 7 tr old grand daughter get together and cook for the entire family.
My cooking triumphs
The mmmmmm'sss I hear when someone is eating a dish that I have prepared. It makes me feel validated
My cooking tragedies
