great pie to play around with presentation. taste was similar to regular sweet potatoe prep, but the looks definatly helped make it fancier and easier to get kids to eat!

Cheesecake Topped Brownies

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2006
the prep was a bit more time consuming than regular brownies, but the presentation of the layers and the smell (not to mention the taste) was well worth it. i used 2 tbsp flour instead of cornstarch and i added a bit of cinnamon when i put in the egg mixture.

Asian Turkey Barbecue on Sesame Scallion Toasts

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2004
I was skeptical of so many good ratings, but i gave this one a whirl with all my leftover turkey. I was glad i did, but i did substitue a few things. I used sourdough french rolls instead of english muffins, used chinese bbq sauce (found next to the hoisen sauce in the ethnic foods section), and i used chinese five spice powder in place of the ginger. Hubby says its like a chinese sloppy joe. the end result was fragrant and beautiful, and sure beats a regular turkey sandwich!

its thanksgiving night and i made two pies. ALL the pie is gone and i only had 6 ppl over~! I used pumpkin pie spice instead, but it worked out great. Goes very nicely with vanilla cool whip. Both pies too about 25 extra mins to cook in my electric oven. beautful and tasty.

Apple and Pecan Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2004
i used almonds instead, and it was GREAT. the stuffing in the bird did look kinda gross but it tasted sooooo good. The stuffing i made outside the bird was good too but not as mushy. the flavors blended very well. I chopped the almonds fine and it was a good texture with the soft apples.

turned out tastier than i thought! With a bare pantry this was the perfect thing to make! the only thing i added was some chopped green peppers and hot sauce. perfect in a tortilla with cheese.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2004
i used around 2 lbs. london broil and all the the ingriedents as written. The end result was juicy with a great gravy. although i was skeptical because of the tomato the gravy was wonderful. As for the reviews saying use half a packet of onion soup, i used a full packet and the meat was less salty than the chive and sour cream boxed potatos i made.... try it as written first then adjust. i love it as it, and it was SO easy! good recipes for week days.

Everyone i made this for, including the kids, loved it. It was quick, using waxed paper to line the pan made cleanup a cinch, and one square in my diet was a yummy low point treat.

Never Bitter Lemonade

this was the first recipe i found and the only one i'll use! when using fresh garden lemons use less sugar, and when using bottled lemon juice or store bought lemons use the regular amount. makes absolutely fabulous tasting lemonade.

Almond Lemon Chicken

i ommitted the parsely since i forgot i didnt have it in my pantry. i used margarine instead of butter, fresh lemon juice, and 2 tablespoons real dijon mustard with seeds and 1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard since thats all i had left. The results were excellent, but it could have used a bit more orange marmelade. very rich and very good presentation.

Burrito Pie

OK first off, i half this recipe. Sometimes i vary taco sauce with salsa. I use chedder cheese cause thats what i have onhand. Overall a very versitle recipe you can play with, try using enchilada sauce instead of taco sauce for a different flavor. I have been using this recipe as a base for years, it is one of my husband's most asked for meals.
