About this Cook
I watched my mom a lot growing up, but i didnt realize i could cook until i moved out. Now i am fully utilizing my cooking skills for my husband and guests.
My favorite things to cook
Sesame Chicken, cheesecakes, Ma Lipo's Apricot Glazed Turkey, and Brocolli Cheese Soup
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking mexican food like my grandmother, even if i have to call in the middle of cooking with a question.
My cooking triumphs
I made homemade tamales for the first time recently for a friend's bday present. It took 13 hours in all.
My cooking tragedies
The first cake i ever made from scratch failed miserbly because i used the wrong pan, my hubby (bf at the time) walked 3 blocks to get me new pans because i was so upset. I've also forgotten things in the stove and burnt them and cried, i guess i should get a timer for xmas! But i rarely get goof ups now, but i think it happens to everyone once in awhile.

Sarah Contona's Sweet Potato Pie
great pie to play around with presentation. taste was similar to regular sweet potatoe prep, but the looks definatly helped make it fancier and easier to get kids to eat!

Cheesecake Topped Brownies
the prep was a bit more time consuming than regular brownies, but the presentation of the layers and the smell (not to mention the taste) was well worth it. i used 2 tbsp flour instead of cornstarch and i added a bit of cinnamon when i put in the egg mixture.
