Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2011
Simple and tasty. I added about 1/3 cup of red wine and a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar for a little extra flavour. I didn't have a can of beef broth, so I used "Better Than Buillion', a wonderful organic beef paste. I just ate a bowl fresh out of the crock pot on a cool autumn day - wonderful! Oh yeah - and I used bison stew meat as that is what I had kicking around.

Grilled Mustard Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
A very simple and tasty recipe that you can adjust to your liking with the ingredients and herbs you have on hand. I made a few changes that I would recommend, and I'll add a custom recipe so that you can follow it if you'd like. * First, I used regular mustard instead of dijon, and it turned out great with the regular yellow picnic mustard. * I used all red potatoes, and used organic extra virgin olive oil because I only keep that oil on hand (and use it for all baking/cooking regardless of instructions... because I dislike having a cupboard full of condiments!). I used celery seed plus a bit of salt because I don't have celery salt. I also added 2 very large cloves of garlic, minced, and a handful of fresh rosemary from my garden, coarsely chopped. * Once I cooked the potatoes, I coated them with the entire mixture, then transferred them to a single layer on foiled pans. Brioled in the oven until brown, turning them once (broiled for about 10 minutes, watching carefully). * Once that was all done I cooled them, then tossed with a few shakes of dried dill in the original bowl that I had mixed them in (there was about a tablespoon of the oil mixture left). Delicious!

Almond Chocolate Coconut Cookies II

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2010
Easy to make and delicious. I only made half the recipe, which was plenty. Other modifications: I didn't have any baking soda, so I used baking powder (1 tsp soda = 2 tsp powder), and omitted the salt. I substituted half the vanilla with almond extract, added 1/4 cup extra coconut (because I wanted to finish my jar of it), and added about 1/2 cup less of chocolate chips than called for. These really do taste like almond joy (at least with the almond extract and extra coconut in there), and are a really nice texture. Will definitely make this one again!

Lemon Squares III

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2003
*The author forgot to add the lemon to the main part of the squares*. My boyfriend made these for my bday, leaving the lemon out of the squares (it was still in the icing). Even without the lemon in the squares THEY WERE SO DELICIOUS. I almost ate the entire pan myself. Next time we'll add the lemon to the squares and the icing!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2002
These cookies are absolutely scrumptralescent. I brought them for dessert at a family gathering, and everybody scarfed them up before they even touched the Girl Guide cookies or delicious apple pie! I want to try adding hazelnuts to this recipe too.
