Me and my boy
This is me!
About this Cook
I met my husband at 12, we had our son at 16 and married at 18 in '93. My family is the most important thing to me - 2nd is Tiffany's.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I usually do not cook but I have been lately and so far so good. You throw me in front of my kitchenaid - give me some flour, sugar, eggs - you'll have a masterpiece... sometimes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every christmas I bake pecan pies, lemon bars - you name it - we have it and my co-workers love it.
My cooking triumphs
I enjoy cooking now. I grew up in a family that didn't cook - we always ate out. My poor husband couldn't figure out what in the world happened to me - he enjoys cooking. For some reason, I enjoy cooking now - finding low-fat foods and cooking healthy for my family. They deserve the best food.
My cooking tragedies
I used to burn everything (except when I bake). Recently I helped my son bake a pecan pie - we forgot to take the lining out. Couldn't believe I did that...

Sugar Cookie Glaze
This is a great glaze. I used it with Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies and it was a very tasty compliment to them. I traced the outline of the cookie with Royal Icing II and allowed that to dry then used the glaze. We will be using this recipe again!

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies
These cookies were the best. I used half of the almond extract because of other reviews. I have no complaints and neither did family and friends. They tasted even better the next day. I used the Royal Icing II recipe to outline the cookies and the Sugar Cookie Glaze. Let them sit over night and they were divine!!!

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
This was not one of the best that I have tried but it was OK. I will stick to my regular recipe which includes corn flakes in the topping. That is the best.
